The Inn At Newport Ranch Is Named One Of America’s Best New Hotels In USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards

Architectural Masterpiece on the Northern Mendocino Coast Claims Number Six Spot on the List

The Inn at Newport Ranch, a 2,000 acre coastal cattle ranch that stretches from spectacular ocean cliffs to a forest where redwoods were logged in the 19th century, has been chosen as one of the 10 Best New Hotels in the country in the USA TODAY 10Best travel award contest. Located on the Pacific Ocean in Mendocino County, California, the property boasts craftsmanship in the whimsical “ranch-meets-forest” style, and the hospitality of the innkeepers and their staff is renowned.

Each year USA TODAY invites readers from around the world to participate in the month-long “10Best Readers’ Choice” awards by voting for their favorites across multiple categories, including “Best New Hotel” (the last category to be voted upon in 2016). To determine the best new hotels, USA TODAY’s 10Best editors partnered with a panel of luxury travel experts to select 20 nominees from around the United States. The top 10 winners for 2016 were then determined by popular vote in a 10 Best Readers’ Choice Award contest sponsored by USA TODAY. Winners were announced on Feb. 6, and The Inn at Newport Ranch came in at number six.

“A whole lot of love went into the building of this property, and our goal has always been to share the beauty and adventure of this magnificent piece of land with travelers on a global level,” states Creighton Smith, General Manager and Innkeeper at The Inn at Newport Ranch. “It’s wonderful to see it recognized as one of the Best New Hotels in the nation by a panel of distinguished luxury travel experts, as well as voters from around the world.”

Located three and a half hours north of San Francisco and twenty miles north of the historic town of Mendocino, the newly constructed Inn at Newport Ranch is part of a 2,000 acre coastal cattle ranch on the site of the former town of Newport and its lumber chute. With more than a mile of oceanfront, three miles of ridge tops, panoramic coastal views and 20 miles of world class hiking and riding trails through redwoods and along the coast, the ranch is a unique private domain for those enjoying the North Coast’s many recreational opportunities and delights, and is an ideal destination for vacations, small conferences, retreats, family reunions, weddings and special events.
